Why Guatemala?

About a year ago, I spent a month travelling through Guatemala with two friends, including a short trip into Belize. It’s a journey that has stayed with me. The mix of ancient Mayan temples, dense jungle, abundant wildlife, and deeply rooted culture makes the country incredibly rich. People are warm and welcoming, and speaking Spanish every day felt natural and grounding. Climbing Acatenango was a once-in-a-lifetime experience: physically demanding, unforgettable, and something I’m still proud of.
