We are Amandine & Angelo, the duo behind Carta Volta, but, more importantly, two people who, at heart, live to travel and enjoy life. By day, we’re out exploring: new places and cultures, wonders of nature, ancient castles, and museums that make you lose track of time. By night, we slow down, and you will always find us in a nice restaurant or a cosy pub, feet under the table, good food, a bottle of red, maybe even a board game, but definitely somewhere we won’t leave for hours. For us, travel isn’t about ticking off sights. It’s about slipping into the rhythm of a city and feeling at home, even if that means watching F1 on race day!

Why Ghent?

We have both lived in Ghent for over a decade. Before we knew each other, we got to know the city as students in our early twenties, discovering bars, late-night bites, hidden corners, and parks with friends. Now in our early thirties, we changed our go-to spots, but our love for Ghent has only grown stronger.
