How to add affiliate links to your Carta Volta map?

You can do it in two ways: connect an affiliate account at the profile level, or add a dedicated link to any pin that needs a booking. Either way, every hotel, tour, or flight a traveller books through your map earns you a commission. Here's how to set it up with Stay22, GetYourGuide, Viator, Booking.com, and Expedia.

When travellers use your map, they’re looking for inspiration and guidance to plan their holidays with your recommendations. We know affiliate links are a big part of that for you, as every booking made through your affiliate link not only helps your audience, but also rewards you with a commission. With Carta Volta, you can easily add affiliate links to your travel maps for hotels, activities and flights that require reservations.

Two ways to share affiliate links

You can include affiliate links in two flexible ways and start earning: set them at the account level using our preferred platforms, or add dedicated links to individual pins on your map. Choose what works best for you, whether you already have an affiliate setup or you’re just getting started. If you have an account with one of our preferred platforms, you can instantly turn all links that qualify (hotel, activities and flights) into affiliate links: no need for manual updates on each pin. Prefer to manage affiliates per pin? Our map builder makes it simple to add specific links wherever you want. You can even combine both methods: if you’ve set up a platform-wide affiliate program but want a custom link for a particular pin (say, one you’ve negotiated directly), that custom link will take priority and be shown to your audience. With these options, you have complete control and flexibility to maximise your earning potential while helping travellers discover the best experiences.

Preferred platforms

On your Carta Volta profile, you’ll notice a field called Stay22 AID (Affiliate ID) right under your username. This simple step connects your affiliate account, ensuring you earn commissions for every booking made through your map. Just copy your AID from your Stay22 Hub dashboard, paste it into the field and save your profile. Setup takes only seconds. Dedicated links

Whenever you add a place that needs a reservation or booking, like a hotel or activity, you’ll see a label: 'booking recommended' or 'tickets required.' Switch this on, and a new field will appear under contacts: 'reservations' or 'tickets.' This lets you add your unique affiliate link, making it easy for travellers to book and for you to earn. If you don’t see the label, that place doesn’t support affiliate links (yet), so focus on adding great links where they count.

Find personal affiliate links easily

  • GetYourGuide: In your partner dashboard, go to Tools, then Links. Search for the activity you want to recommend or paste its GetYourGuide URL. The tool will instantly generate a trackable link with your partner ID already included.
  • Viator: Open ‘Viator Selector’ from your dashboard or visit selector.viator.com. Find the tour you’d like to recommend, click 'Create a Link' in the top right, and copy the generated link.
  • Booking.com: In the Affiliate Partner Centre, use the link creator: paste the URL of the specific property page and receive the same link with your affiliate ID attached.
  • Expedia (including Hotels.com and Vrbo): While browsing any Expedia Group site, use the Creator Toolbox and click 'Get link'. Your tracked link is copied automatically. You can also paste a page URL into the link tool on the Travel Creator Dashboard.
  • Others: Most affiliate dashboards work similarly: look for a 'link,' 'deep link,' or 'create link' tool, paste in the normal page URL, and it will generate a link with your unique ID attached.

Monitor your links

Carta Volta can’t automatically verify whether your booking links still work or whether providers have updated their terms: that’s in your hands. Keeping your links up to date helps ensure travellers have a seamless experience and maximises your earning potential. Make it a habit to check your links from time to time, especially for activities, since providers often update their offerings frequently.
