Hi, I’m a Co-Founder of Carta Volta, so it’s safe to say I absolutely love travelling. My travel style is a mix of culture and local life: good food, great wine, museums, and learning about traditions along the way. I’m always up for a glass of wine and a small bite while soaking up the vibe of a city. I like to do my research before travelling (when time allows) and try to see as much as possible. Shopping usually doesn’t make the list though, because I tend to travel light and stick to a carry-on.
Why Mechelen?
I grew up near Mechelen, and throughout high school, it was my favourite escape. Every Friday after school, I would hop on the train to visit my friends here. We would grab drinks, explore new cafés, and just enjoy the city. Even now, some of my closest friends live in this area, and whenever we meet up, it’s often in Mechelen. This map is built on years of memories, local discoveries, and personal tips. Not just from me, but from all the people who’ve lived and loved this city with me.
